If you're looking for a simple lip scrub recipe with only three ingredients - then this mocha coffee lip scrub is for you! Cocoa powder + coffee grounds + grape seed oil = gently exfoliated lips!

Maybe my skin is a bit sensitive, but the sugar or salt lip scrubs I have tried are far too abrasive for me. My lips need fairly frequent exfoliation to stay smooth, so using a super rough scrub is out of the question. Feeling pain after exfoliation is never a good sign!

Coffee grounds, however, create the perfect lip scrub texture! While coffee grounds are exfoliating and get rid of that dead or peeling skin, they are not nearly as abrasive as course sugar or salt is. I love coffee lip scrub (and coffee body scrub!)

Cocoa powder is just a delicious, and even more nourishing, addition.

    Benefits of Mocha Lip Scrub

I have a total obsession with coffee. I may or may not drink 4 cups a day. If there is a way to incorporate more coffee into my life, I will find it and embrace it. (PS - coffee with a touch of maple syrup in it is SUPER delicious, just so you know.)

As if this lip scrub could not anymore amazing on the aromatic front...it also contains cacao powder for that delicious mocha scent and taste.

These are also ingredients that are beneficial to your skin and lips. Coffee is anti-inflammatory and invigorating. Cacao will nourish your lips, as it contains magnesium, vitamin C, and omega 6.

The lip scrub recipe also contains grapeseed oil or hemp oil - your choice! Hemp oil is my absolute favorite skin moisturizer for many reasons, and grapeseed oil is also moisturizing. Both oils easily absorb into the skin and do not clog pores (which is super important if you have annoying acne prone skin like I do!)

    How to Use Lip Scrub

I use this lip scrub every 2-3 days to keep my lips moist, nourished, and free from peeling or chapped skin.

You can simply use your fingers to gently rub the scrub over your lips - a special lip-scrub-designated toothbrush works great as well.

This lip scrub recipe makes enough to fill about two 4oz mason jars.

      Hello,

Thanks for sharing! Have you ever used used, dried out coffee grounds? Just curious if the grounds need to be fresh or could be already brewed? Many local roasters in my area who would lovingly donate.

      Thank you!

Super easy and works great! I didn’t have the correct oil so made it with coconut oil instead. It smells divine, just like chocolate slice, and works a treat. Mixture was runny and not crumbly like the picture.
