    Delicious Non-Dairy Coffee Recipe

One of my biggest struggles with going vegan was my coffee. It was really hard for me to break away from my half & half. Once I got past the mental hurdle and decided I needed to quit the dairy, due to both personal health and ethical reasons, I never bought half & half again. But the search for delicious non-dairy creamer, with good ingredients, was on!

Fortunately, I didn't have to look far. Silk offers a bunch of different non-dairy creamers, and even more now than back when I quit dairy. I have recently fallen in love with the line of Silk Almond Creamers and I'm so excited to be able to share them with you.

    Naturally-Sweetened Cinnamon Sauce

I love the Silk® Vanilla Almond Creamer and Silk® Caramel Almond Creamer flavors. These almond creamers contain no artificial flavors and colors, which is super important to me. No cholesterol or saturated fat, either.

Some non-dairy creamers out there contain carrageenan - but you'll be happy to know that these ones do not! They are also verified by the Non-GMO Project. Score!

I purchased these creamers from Walmart, in the same section of the store as the other refrigerated coffee creamers.

How to Make Vegan Cinnamon Sauce

My personal favorite way to enjoy my coffee is by pairing the vanilla almond creamer with this super scrumptious Naturally-Sweetened Cinnamon Sauce. That hint of vanilla + cinnamon is an amazing combination.

Making this vegan cinnamon sauce is very complicated: blend together soft dates, water, and cinnamon. Hard, right? KIDDING! It is so incredibly easy and done in less than 5 minutes.

Tip: If your dates are not soft and squishy, soak them in warm water for 20-30 minutes before blending.

Mix a spoonful into your hot coffee, add the vanilla almond creamer, stir, and sip away! ☕ ☀

    • ¾ cup warm water
    • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

    Notes

If you LOVE this cinnamon sauce as much as I do - you'll want to incorporate it in everything. It's good on waffles and in vegan ice cream, too!

How long will the cinnamon sauce keep? I am transitioning to vegan and finding an alternative to the cinnamon creamer I currently use is proving a challenge.

      5 stars
I used a food processor instead of a blender.
      Worst.
      Idea.
      Ever.
Tasty sauce, though. It will console me as I try to shake all the cinnamon water out of the coffee machine.
