Refreshing smoothie meets healing spice! Enjoy this tropical turmeric smoothie for breakfast, an afternoon snack, a midnight snack...lunch...dinner...Okay - maybe not those last two, but this smoothie is delicious so you might be tempted (go for it!). Pineapple, mango, and turmeric come together to make this healthy smoothie recipe with a kick of nutritional benefits. It's also vegan!
Guys, I'm not one to complain much oh my gosh, if you suffer from TMJ or TMJD, you know how awful it can be. Among other natural remedies (like a magnesium supplement), I take turmeric supplements or incorporate the spice into my diet when I can.
Health Benefits of Turmeric
Not only is turmeric anti-inflammatory, turmeric also:
- Improves brain function
- May act like an antidepressant
- Lowers risk of heart disease
- May prevent or slow cancer growth (source)
So, basically, turmeric has some pretty awesome health benefits.
Blended in a smoothie with tropical fruits (in this case, pineapple and mango) turmeric is also super delicious!
Tropical Turmeric Smoothie Elements
I've always loved smoothies, but lately I have been enjoying experimenting with different flavors instead of just throwing a bunch of berries and greens in my blender. You can find so many unique recipes on Pinterest, and I've been pinning all of my favorites onto my smoothie board for inspiration.
In general, I make my smoothies with cashew milk. I love cashew milk in smoothies because it's creamier than other types of non-dairy milk. It also just happens to be the kind of milk I typically buy (or an almond milk/cashew milk blend), so that's just what I had in my fridge 😉
This smoothie would also taste amazing with coconut milk or simply coconut water as an added tropical element to go with the pineapple and mango!
Mango + coconut = HEAVEN. Pure. Heaven. (I'm totally feeling that combination lately. Hello, whipped coconut cream with mango chunks? Meet mouth.)
You could even make a tropical turmeric smoothie bowl topped with toasted coconut flakes, mango slices, and chopped pineapple. YUM. You might just see that recipe on the blog in the future (subscribe so you don't miss it.)
The turmeric in this smoothie is not too strong at all - while I love the health benefits, turmeric can definitely be overpowering. Adding just a half of a teaspoon is perfect for me. You can taste the turmeric, but it does not overpower the delicious pineapple and mango. My toddler even enjoys the yummy taste!
Drink this smoothie for breakfast as a pick-me-up and a boost of anti-inflammatory benefit to get your day started on the right foot.
This is also super refreshing after coming inside from that hot summer weather - this humidity in the south kills me and a nourishing smoothie always replenishes those electrolytes. You could even throw a handful of ice in there to make it super cold to help you cool off.

Id like to view your information without ALL the ADS that are between your ingredients and your instructions. I have the ingredients and have been Interrupted so many times while looking for the instructions that I stopped looking for the instruction
Very aggravated with all the ads that pop up

I have one pop up ad, so I'm not sure what you mean. There is a "jump to recipe" button at the top of the post so you can skip right to the instructions. There is no pop up between the ingredients and instructions. Ads on my site are necessary to provide free content to my readers.
