I like cooking with a lot of seasoning and one of my favorites is this homemade Italian seasoning. It's super versatile!

I love buying organic spices in bulk, which makes it even easier to make seasoning when you're in a pinch. Plus, it's much cheaper.

Ingredients for Italian seasoning in small bowls on a surface: sage, garlic powder, parsley, marjoram, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and oregano.

    Ingredients

When I first start cooking on my own, I had no idea what was in Italian seasoning. To my surprise, it was spices I already had on hand!

    • Parsley
    • Rosemary
    • Thyme
    • Garlic powder
    • Oregano
    • Marjoram
    • Onion powder
    • Sage

    Directions

Simply mix all of the spices together and store in a jar. Homemade seasoning generally stores for up to 1 year.

I love to store my seasonings in Weck jars. They are gorgeous jars, but also really easy to fill because of the wide mouth.

    How to Use

You can use this homemade Italian seasoning in any Italian-inspired dish or recipe that calls for it. Even if a recipe doesn't distinctly call for Italian seasoning, but most of the individual spices in it, I tend to just use the spice mix for ease.

    Here are some ideas:

    • Homemade meatballs
    • Marinara sauce
    • Cauliflower Parmesan (Vegan No-chicken!)
    • Pizza Sauce
