If you have never made homemade ranch, oh my gosh, go to your kitchen RIGHT NOW and make this. Nom nom. You’ll never buy store-bought again. So tasty, plus the ingredients are so much better.
Some store-bought vegan ranch dressings taste…odd. Let’s be real. This recipe tastes just like the real thing. Nope, I’m not a dressing magician or anything. It’s all in finding your favorite vegan mayo and using the right seasonings.

Ingredients
I like to use Just Mayo in my ranch recipe which tastes like a traditional mayo that is made with eggs. Other great options are Vegenaise and Hellman’s vegan mayo. All of these contain only plant-based ingredients, whereas traditional mayo is made with eggs.

I have tried making vegan ranch with cashews. And while delicious, it just doesn’t hit the spot for me when I want that perfect ranch taste like vegan mayo does.
- Vegan mayo: Again, use your favorite!
- Dairy-free milk: Unsweetened, plain. I have been using oat milk these days.
- Apple cider vinegar: Adds a zing to the recipe. You can also use lemon juice or white vinegar.
- Garlic: The recipe calls for fresh cloves, but garlic powder works, too (use about 1 teaspoon.)
- Parsley, dill, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper: The spices and seasoning you need for a flavorful ranch! Feel free to use fresh parsley and dill.
Paprika is kind of like my secret ingredient for this recipe. It is still absolutely amazing without it, but it adds a special oomph.
How to Make Vegan Ranch Dressing
The directions for this vegan ranch are as simple as mixing all of the ingredients together. Add more (or less) non-dairy milk to get the consistency you desire. You can enjoy it as soon as you make it, but the flavors really come through after sitting a couple of hours in the fridge.
Storage
Store this ranch in a jar or airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10-14 days.

This dressing can also work as a vegan ranch dip for veggies…or homemade fries. Yummy!
My favorite ways to use it? On salads, of course, and in wraps! My son loves to dip pretty much any and everything in it. I wanna know how you use it!

I am so happy to come across this amazing ranch recipe! I used Follow Your Heart Soy Free Veganaise as I also require soy, canola oil and starch free. I skipped the salt due to FYH is high in salt. The herbs and spices are an amazing mix and I used them in the exact quantity. Thank you Karissa.
Yes it is so delicious. Make it all the time. Everyone loves it. When I tell them it is vegan they can’t believe it. I keep it on hand all the time. Thank you for this delicious recipe.
This recipe is so delicious and easy to make. I use it for salad dressing and dip for veggies. Thank you for sharing all of your wonderful recipes. Your recipes have made it easy for me to adopt a vegan diet.
Made salad and this dressing for my family tonight. They loved it! Everyone said it taste just like ranch dressing! No more buying salad dressing for me
This is perfect. I used red wine vinegar in place of apple cider vinegar. This will be my go to vegan ranch dressing for now on.
Have you tried this recipe with your oil free “bean” mayo recipe? ? ?
I tried this dressing today in my tofu nut ball tortilla wraps, mixed with lettuce, tomato, green onion, an avocado, and the combination of flavors was like a marriage made in heaven! My new go-to sauce. Thanks so much!
Hi! Have you tried making this dressing with your oil free bean mayo?
Did you try this with the bean mayo?
If so, how was it?
Super easy. The flavor you must try. It is better than any store bought. Plus you don’t have ANY additives. I fry chunks of potatoes in the air fryer and dip them. Yummy!
Hi Karissa,
Thank you so much for this recipe. I know, especially as a vegan, it’s sooo important to get your veggies in. However, bland veggies just don’t cut it for me. Now I am able to eat the recommended serving of vegetables and more! I used Chosen Foods avocado oil mayo, omitted the parsley, and used 3/4 tsp of granulated garlic and smoked paprika in place of the three garlic gloves and regular paprika. Since it worked so well with all of my alterations, I can’t wait to try it as written! Thank you again!
Easy and delicious! My guests loved it!
Finally a ranch dressing comparable to the original! I’ve had to go dairy free while nursing and it’s been quite the journey as I didn’t realize just how much dairy items I used to eat and love. This was one of the last substitutes I was looking to replace (and I am picky cuz it has to taste so close to the real thing for me). This hit the nail on the head and was much easier and tastier than a cashew recipe I tried before finding this one. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can now indulge in veggies n dip, salads and ranch w my dairy free pizza.
Wow! So fast, easy & tasty! I forgot to bring home ranch dressing for my SUPER picky husband to douse his pizza in so I was looking for a recipe to whip up quickly before he found out. This was the ticket, he didn’t notice a thing. Thanks for sharing! 😀
First time trying this recipe and I’m impressed! It is a great standalone veggie dip, but i will be using it to make Vegan bacon and ranch pasta salad for my work’s potluck.
This was great tasting! My only issue is, how did you come up with 100 calories per tablespoon. I used Hellman’s vegan mayo and homemade oatmilk with water and oats only. I didn’t come up with very many calories. Can you help solve.
